The Thorntree Mission

The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing
and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to its close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences. -Winston Churchill, 1936

Thorntree Commons is committed to taking an active role in the unfolding evolution of growth and development, by:

  • Continuing its exploration of all aspects of sustainable and environmentally sensitive living.
  • Increasing awareness that "good-life" alternatives exist in how we shelter ourselves and relate to our natural environment.
  • Creating a place which requires that stewardship translates into real world differences in how we "build" for living.
  • Connecting with others who wish to better understand our model.
  • Demonstrating that better development alternatives are economically feasible and deserve institutional support.
  • Achieving a level of awareness and creditability so that Thorntree comes to mean, "that better place to live"... and a good investment in every respect.
